Situated on the scenic Somerset Levels, this project required replacing a deteriorating deck that overhung a water-filled ditch. The client’s brief was clear: create a safe outdoor space that wouldn’t obstruct views of the beautiful waterway and surrounding countryside behind their property.
TIMARK designed and built a new cantilevered decking area using durable materials suited to the damp environment. The innovative safety solution combined functionality with minimal visual impact: a stainless steel wire fence with sleek stainless steel handrails that provides essential child safety whilst maintaining uninterrupted views.
The transparent nature of the wire fence means the family can safely enjoy their outdoor space whilst still appreciating the natural beauty of the wetland landscape beyond. This project showcases our ability to engineer solutions that balance safety requirements with design aesthetics in challenging environments.
