This rural property lacked mains sewage connection and relied on an outdated cesspit no longer fit for purpose. TIMARK was commissioned to design and install a complete modern sewage treatment system with drainage field discharge into the lower garden area.
The project required excavating and replacing the majority of the existing foul drainage line, installing new pipework throughout with strategically positioned manholes to create a compliant, maintainable system. Work involved navigating through historic granite paving and flagstones—materials requiring specialist handling and careful removal.
TIMARK’s attention to detail shone through in the reinstatement work, expertly re-laying the original granite materials to preserve the property’s character. Recessed manhole covers were specified and installed to discreetly integrate the new inspection points, maintaining aesthetic appeal whilst ensuring practical access for future maintenance. The completed system provides modern, environmentally responsible waste treatment whilst respecting the property’s historic setting.
