Working on a charming old solid stone cottage undergoing comprehensive renovation, TIMARK provided crucial structural and finishing works to enable the kitchen designer’s vision. Our specialist scope encompassed knocking down an internal wall to create the desired open-plan layout, a task requiring particular care given the cottage’s solid stone construction.
We levelled uneven floors—common in period properties—to provide a stable base for the new kitchen installation. Comprehensive plastering of ceilings and walls created smooth, contemporary surfaces whilst respecting the cottage’s character.
A significant element was creating a new window opening, transforming what had been a dark room into a light-filled space flooded with natural light. This structural modification required careful execution to maintain the cottage’s integrity whilst dramatically improving its liveability. Our work provided the perfect foundation for the kitchen designer to create a stunning open-plan kitchen-diner that honours the cottage’s heritage whilst embracing modern living.
